Singapore

Marc and I left Sydney, and are now in the middle of the Indian community in Singapore. I liked Sydney so much that we even thought of staying for longer.
The last day there, we 'climbed' the Sydney Harbor Bridge with our friend Ryan from San Fran. U guys can perhaps imagine the view from up there, especially at night when we climbed it. Unfortunately, no cameras allowed.
Tons of things to do in Singapore though ....

  1. Check out some of those Singapore Math books. What you did in that IB of yours(softie!!!) these guys do in 3rd grade...Singapore is an appalling sterile country run by a Big Brother like dictator where you are fined 1500 Spore dollars just for spitting on the road. Horrid place...

  2. Perhaps, but they have an amazing history with beautiful museums to show it. It's also a very clean and organized city with many beautiful sights.
We went to the center yesterday actually where'd we met with my brother's friend. We started talking about networks, non-linear regressions and bootstrap. I got my dose of math for one night.
Oh and littering is in the hundreds, jay-walking is 10. ;)

  3. yeap, me Colombian would go bankrupt in Singapore. I would have totally taken the picture from the harbor bridge, and jay-walked and, well, I wouldn't spit or litter, so I guess perhaps I won't go that bankrupt.

  5. LOL Robert, you dont know half the people commenting on your blog...mega fail ! Can you elaborate on Singapore's history? From my knowledge, the only history there is first Indo/Chinese influences in the ancient times, and then it was a colonial outpost. Nothing particularly "original". I might be wrong of course, in which case please enlighten me...

  7. aaditya - it would take me a while to elaborate on singaporean history. You forgot to mention their significance in the 2ww, and the changes that happened after, including the transition to such a developing nation-city.
Also, I know who Sheldon is, do you?

sheldon - the cambodian pics are coming shortly. Internet here is pretty slow; we'll upload everything in Hanoi.
