Marc and I had a couple of laughs thanks to this city, Townsville. Unfortunately, I think it was the one to laugh last, as we had to flee the city by car as the cyclone category 5 with 7 meters-waves was about to flood our room. The first joke was that it reminded us of the movie Eurotrip, when the protagonists of the movie find themselves in Bratislava. The second joke was the name of the city: the people here must have had very little imagination to name their city Townsville...perhaps because it was at the time two towns (which it was) so Townsville. Actually, it's after a dude called Robert Towns.
the CBD of Townsville .... (actually no, but we lived to far from it and prefered to stay at the beach). It's a very industrial city needless to say..

So Robert, between cuddling pigs, gayishly naming birds and fleeing cyclones, you seem to be having an interesting trip so far?
ReplyDeleteSo far yes. Cuddling pigs, gayishly naming birds and fleeing cyclones are new hobbies of mine. You see, I have very little to do on my 6 months holidays. :) I read a bit of complex analysis today on the plane, but quickly realized that I much preferred to watch a movie. :)
ReplyDeletewhat movie did you watch? we should watch the devil wears prada again. I watched eat pray love and oh my god, what a boring movie. The red fountain looks like taken from charlie and the chocolate factory, and after your mega tanning session at the beach, you can perfectly be oompa loompas, jajaja
ReplyDeleteoh, and I watched mean girls 2 (yes I was bored) but I have to admit it was more entertaining than eat pray love :P
ReplyDeletegladiators. i have some good movies with me. Lina - when i'm back we are watching some good movies again (like burlesque). btw, i watched Black Swan, awesome movie. Ask Nate how good it is.
